important things to know

There is nothing more important to us than our guests’ and our team’s wellbeing. We have conducted a full risk assessment, adjusted table plans and staggered booking times; and our staff are fully trained on hygiene procedures. We have outlined our customer facing procedures to address the risks of coronavirus, along with our updated booking conditions during this time.

RESERVATIONS

We encourage all guests use the online booking system to make a reservation if you are looking to dine with us. You will be given a choice of times for when you would like the table from and until based on what is available, to a maximum of two hours. If you wish to spend longer than 2 hours with us, please request this at the time of booking and we will accommodate wherever possible.

Our opening hours and busy periods are still adjusting to “the new normal” so we would recommend booking ahead of time to ensure you aren’t disappointed

AT MANGO

Please continue to respect our staff and other guests’ personal space.

Guests are welcome to continue to use face masks.

Hand sanitising stations are provided at the entrance and throughout our restaurants.

All of our menus are available online if guests would rather access the menu on their mobile device.

We encourage payment by debit or credit card.

CARD AUTHENTICATION, DEPOSITS & CANCELLATIONS

Bookings for up to 6 guests now require a secure card authentification of £10 per person to book a table to help us to avoid no shows and last minute cancellations which have a massive impact on our business. No money will be taken unless you fail to turn up for your booking or break Mango’s booking terms. If you need to make a cancellation or alter numbers please let us know before 1pm on the day of your booking or we reserve the right to charge a £10 cancellation fee for those who don’t attend.

Bookings for 7 or more guests will be required to make a deposit payment of £10 per person. Deposits will be taken off the bill on the night, otherwise refunds made via the Collins booking system will take 5-10 working days to reach your account. No money will be kept unless you fail to turn up for your booking or break Mango’s booking terms. If you need to make a cancellation or alter numbers please let us know before 1pm on the day before your booking or we reserve the right to charge a £10 cancellation fee for those who don’t attend.

Large parties will be required to make a bigger deposit, as per arrangements made at the time of booking. Exclusive venue hire (inc. Mango Ocean Village Basement/Top Floor): if you need to make a cancellation please let us know with four days notice for full deposit refund.

LATE ARRIVALS

We ask that all guests arrive at the booking time. If you are more than 15 minutes late and haven’t let us know, we cannot guarantee to hold the table and your table might be given to waiting guests. If you’re late, you may not have enough time to dine before the table is required for the next reservation, so please be aware of the time slot you have booked your table for.

WALK-INS

Whilst we love that you guys do pop in, we can only guarantee tables that have pre-booked. Our opening hours and busy periods are still adjusting to “the new normal” so we would recommend booking ahead of time to ensure you aren’t disappointed

OPENING HOURS

Mango’s opening times changed due to the pandemic and we’re still working our way back to “normal”. If necessary, we may alter opening times on the day, so please book your table online to avoid disappointment.

Our kitchens close before the venue closing time, these times may vary. We recommend making a reservation before your arrival, or give the venue a call if you are planning on visiting towards the end of the operating hours to avoid disappointment.

UNDER 18S

Mango Cocktail Club in Ocean Village is now an over 18s only venue. Families are welcome at Portswood and Above Bar– please let us know when booking if you have children in your group.

We operate a strict Challenge 25 Policy at all Mangos. If you appear under 25, you will be asked for identification when purchasing alcohol.

SERVICE CHARGE

Please note a 10% optional service charge will be added to your bill. Please just ask if you would like the service charge removed from the bill. We believe that the whole team contributes to the customer experience, so tips will be shared by all our team members working in the restaurant each day, including our kitchen teams. Tips are distributed via a tronc scheme operated by the teams.

DRESS CODE

Ocean Village runs a smart/smart-casual dress-code. Clean trainers are acceptable but otherwise no branded sportswear.

FREE GLASS OF PROSECCO FOR GRADUATION

125ml glass of Prosecco per graduate, must be dining (minimum order of two tapas, or equivalent, per glass). Only applicable for graduating from University of Southampton or Solent University during July 2022. Available at all Mango venues 12-15th July, 20-22nd July


£10 OFF YOUR NEXT VISIT VOUCHER

Get £10 off your bill. Dine in only. One voucher per table. Voucher can only be redeemed against a bill with a minimum spend of £30. Valid Sunday-Thursday. Cannot be used in conjunction with any other discount. Food must be ordered as one round, and will be delivered to the table when ready. Vouchers cannot be redeemed for cash, returned for a refund, have their balances consolidated to a new voucher or be replaced after expiry and are not legal tender. Vouchers cannot be replaced if lost, forgotten or stolen. Voucher must be physically given in exchange for discount.

Get 20% off your food bill when dining after 9pm. Advance booking essential and the offer must be selected at the time of booking. Order must be in the kitchen by 9:45pm. PLACING YOUR ORDER

You must be at least 18 years old to place an order through our website and have the intention of collecting the order within the agreed time limit. You should check your order and information carefully and correct any errors before submitting your order. Completing checkout is a commitment to collect and pay for your order.

If you have an allergy or dietary requirement, please call prior to ordering for advice.

We are unable to correct any errors once payment has been processed. To add additional items to your order after completing checkout, please create a new order. In case of errors, please contact us immediately as we may be able to assist.

PRICES AND PAYMENT

You will be charged as per the prices on our website and these prices are inclusive of vat. In any instance where the price on the website is an incorrect lower price, the restaurant is under no obligation to ensure that the order is provided to you at the incorrect lower price or to compensate you in respect of incorrect pricing.

Please remember to use TAKEAWAY10 when placing your order to receive 10% discount. Once you have paid, we are unable to make any refunds if you forget to enter the code.

CANCELLING OR AMENDING AN ORDER

You may cancel or change your order after it has been submitted and payment has been authorised but this is only allowed up to 45 minutes before the chosen collection time. This can be done by telephoning the restaurant directly. Any order cancelled 45 minutes less than your chosen collection time will be charged to you, and no refund will be given.

If we are unable to fulfil your order or a menu item isn’t available, we will offer a substitute or refund the item amount. We reserve the right to refuse any order should it be necessary for any reason and in the event of needing to issue a refund we will endeavour to do so within 10 working days.

COLLECTING YOUR ORDER

You should arrive at the restaurant at the time you selected to collect your order, let the team know the name you have placed your order under and the order number. We will endeavour to have your order ready for you to collect at your chosen time. In the event your order is delayed, we thank you for your patience.

PRIVACY POLICY

We use Payment Sense to collect and process transaction information. We do not store credit card details nor do we share customer details with any 3rd parties.

GIFT VOUCHERS

Gift vouchers are available from the website via Giftpro, a third party website. Vouchers purchased are non transferable, can only be used once and cannot be exchanged for cash or replaced if lost.

All bookings must be made in advance, please write your voucher code into the ‘special requests’ field. Vouchers are redeemable at any Mango Thai Tapas.

A limited number of paper gift vouchers can be made available for purchase from Mango in Portswood. The same rules apply.

Gift vouchers which expired in March or later of 2020 or 2021, will be extended until March 2022.

CROWDFUNDER

If you have a Crowdfunder voucher, please write your voucher code into the ‘special requests’ field. Thank you again for your support.

CHARITABLE VOUCHERS

Gift vouchers which we have issued for charitable purposes can be used Sunday-Thursday and are valid for 3 months from the date donated.

BOTTOMLESS BRUNCH

Bottomless brunch at Mango Ocean Village, will be served for 2 hours, from the time you order your first drink. You’ll want to make the most out of your dedicated time slot so please arrive on time. If you are late, we cannot guarantee we can extend the table as we may have another booking after you. Your drink must be finished before ordering your next from the selection. Drinks cannot be shared and the whole table must be taking part in the offer.

Please let us know at the time of booking if anyone in your party has any dietary requirements that we should be aware of. The usual menu will be available should you wish to order any additional menu items (these will be charged at their regular price).

Tapas (choose one): Spring rolls (vg) / Mozzarella Panko (v) / Mushroom Calamari (vg) / Crispy Beef (gfo) / Chicken Satay

Curry & Wok (choose one): Tofu Golden Curry (vg) / Chicken Panang Curry / Vegetable or Chicken Phad Thai (vgo/gfo) / Mince or Mock-Mince Chilli Basil Stir-fry (vgo/gfo). All served with Jasmine rice (excluding Phad Thai noodles).

Customer safety 

We want you to have fun so please drink responsibly and make it a day you’ll remember. We reserve the right to withdraw this offer and refuse to serve alcohol to any participant, at any time without notice, if we believe it would be irresponsible not to do so. Mango operates a Challenge 25 policy, so please be prepared and carry valid ID with you.
