Summer 2021: We are currently seeking part-time members of staff to join our Thai kitchen teams at Mango Portswood, Above Bar and Ocean Village. Full-time available for the right candidates. 


Front of house staff

We are always happy to receive applications for waiting and bar staff jobs. If you are outgoing and enthusiastic with a sunny disposition, we’d love to hear from you. Ideally candidates will have experience in similar roles and a passion for hospitality. Please be clear which job role you are applying for. You will need to be an all-rounder, flexible in your role and hours. You must be available to work evenings and weekends and if you are a student, non-term time.

Assistant Restaurant Manager June 2021

This is a great opportunity for someone who wishes to learn, develop and progress their career in restaurant management. We are looking for someone who will be a long-term member of our team– we hire people we see potential in to trust them with responsibility and to grow.

 

You’ll be joining the Mango Portswood restaurant, one of three independently owned bar & eateries in Southampton serving delicious Thai Tapas and original, exciting cocktails. You will be responsible for running day to day operational aspects of the restaurant including supporting the manager in recruitment, training, stock management, cash management and all aspects of health and safety. But first and foremost running great shifts on the floor and giving our guests a great experience will always be your priority.

You will need to be available for a minimum of 35 hours per week including evenings, weekends and the holidays.

 

Your duties will include:

  • Assisting in the running of daily front and back of house operations working in synchrony with our kitchen team including managing staff rotas, stock, ordering and customer bookings
  • Creating and maintaining a feel-good, energetic atmosphere in the restaurant
  • Championing Mango’s high standard, ensuring an excellent level of customer service
  • Ensuring the venue is always clean, organised and presentable, in-line with health & safety standards
  • Training & coaching new starters to ensure they meet the brand standards & achieve their potential
  • Making sure the team are focused on giving an excellent level of customer service
  • Working with senior management to drive sales and accomplish business objectives

 

As our ideal assistant manager, you’ll be:

  • happy and smiley– a natural with customers
  • passionate about delivering a fun and friendly customer experience
  • customer focused and lead from the front
  • comfortable working on the floor, banging out cocktails behind the bar, or jumping in the kitchen to help plate up
  • proactive, driven and organised, a problem solver with a keen eye for detail
  • have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • be commercially aware, innovative and excited to help grow an independent company.
