Covid-19 Response & Booking Terms and Conditions

There is nothing more important to us than our guests’ and our team’s wellbeing.

We have conducted a full risk assessment, adjusted table plans and staggered booking times; and our staff are fully trained on hygiene procedures.

We have outlined our customer facing procedures to address the risks of coronavirus, along with our updated booking conditions during this time, below.

RESERVATIONS

We ask that all guests use the online booking system to make a reservation.

You will be given a choice of times for when you would like the table from and until based on what is available, to a maximum of two hours.

If you wish to spend longer than 2 hours with us, please request this at the time of booking and we will accommodate wherever possible.

Bookings are required to be from a maximum of two households. By booking you are confirming that this is true.

We are accepting bookings of up to 6 guests. If you make multiple bookings, members of each group must stay at their designated table.

ALFRESCO DINING

From 12 April until 16 May, all reservations are for outside at Mango Portswood as per government rules.

In the case of a sudden change in weather, any food or drink ordered and prepared will be charged for and packed up for takeaway.

Due to restrictions, we will not be able to accommodate your reservation indoors in the case of bad weather.

Cancellations made after 1pm on the day due to forecasted rain will not be subject to a cancellation fee.

Guests are encouraged to be prepared for weather changes (coats, blankets and umbrellas).

Please ensure you have your face covering with you, as you will need to wear it to use our toilet facilities.

The new Government rules allow for up to 6 guests of different households or more than 6 guests from a maximum of 2 households. Children of all ages count towards the limit of 6.

AT MANGO

Hand sanitising stations are provided at the entrance and throughout our restaurants.

We ask our guests to adhere to social distancing measures.

Guests are asked to wear their facemasks on arrival and when moving through the restaurants.

We offer table service only.

Guests are encouraged to view our menus on their mobile device. Physical menus are available on request.

Our team will now set the table with plates and cutlery once guests are seated.

Staff will avoid close contact with guests and will wear masks at all times.

We strongly encourage payment by debit or credit card.

CARD AUTHENTICATION & DEPOSITS

We now require secure card authentification of £10 per person to book a table to help us to avoid no shows and last minute cancellations which have a massive impact on our business. No money will be taken unless you fail to turn up for your booking or break Mango’s booking terms.

Bookings for 8 or more guests will be required to make a deposit payment of £10 per person. Deposits will be taken off the bill on the night, otherwise refunds made via the Collins booking system will take 5-10 working days to reach your account.

Large parties will be required to make a bigger deposit, as per arrangements made at the time of booking.

LATE & CANCELLATIONS

We ask that all guests arrive at the booking time.

If you are more than 15 minutes late and haven’t let us know, we cannot guarantee to hold the table and your table might be given to waiting guests. Guests are asked to be aware of the time slot booked. If late, you may not have enough time to dine before the table is required for the next reservation.

If you need to make a cancellation or alter numbers please let us know before 1pm on the day of your booking or we reserve the right to charge a £10 cancellation fee for those who don’t attend.

WALK-INS

Whilst we love that you guys do pop in, for now we can only guarantee tables that have pre-booked.

Anyone who walks in without a reservation will need to supply a name, telephone number and email address. This is to help future tracing in the event of another outbreak of the virus.

KITCHEN OPENING HOURS

Mango’s opening times have changed due to the pandemic and will be variable until things return to normal. Mango continue to reserve the right to alter opening times should it be necessary. Please book your table online to avoid disappointment.

UNDER 18s

We operate a strict Challenge 25 Policy. If you appear under 25, you will be asked for identification when purchasing alcohol.

Mango Cocktail Club in Ocean Village is now an over 18s only venue.

Families are welcome at Portswood and Above Bar. Please let us know when booking if you have children in your group.

SERVICE CHARGE

Please note a 10% service charge will be added to your bill at Mango Cocktail Club, Ocean Village. Tips are kept by the team.

DRESS CODE

Ocean Village runs a smart/smart-casual dress-code. Clean trainers are acceptable but otherwise no branded sportswear.

GIFT VOUCHERS

Gift vouchers are available from the website via Giftpro, a third party website. Vouchers purchased are non transferable, can only be used once and cannot be exchanged for cash or replaced if lost. Photocopies will not be accepted and all bookings must be made in advance, please write your voucher code into the ‘special requests’ field. Vouchers are redeemable at any Mango Thai Tapas. A limited number of paper gift vouchers can be made available for purchase from Mango in Portswood. The same rules apply.

Charitable donation gift vouchers can be used Sunday-Thursday and are valid for 3 months from the date donated.

 

CROWDFUNDER

If you have a Crowdfunder voucher, please write your voucher code into the ‘special requests’ field. Thank you again for your support.

 

BLACK FRIDAY

Black Friday vouchers are valid from 2 January 2021 – 2 January 2022, and are redeemable at Mango Thai Portswood and Above Bar locations. Please write your voucher code into the ‘special requests’ field when booking your table.

Set Meal Black Friday vouchers. Glass of Prosecco 125ml per person on arrival. For 2 guests, per table choose 1 nibbles, 2 Thai Tapas, 2 main courses, 2 coffees and 2 desserts. For 4 guests, per table choose 2 nibbles, 4 Thai Tapas, 4 main courses, 4 coffees and 4 desserts. Thai Tapas may include all tapas menu dishes excluding Soft Shell Crab. Curry and Side rice or Noodles may include all options available, prawns, mock-chicken, lamb and beef extra £1.5-£2. Coffees include any non-alcoholic options. Dishes are non transferable.

Vouchers purchased are non transferable, can only be used once and cannot be exchanged for cash or replaced if lost.

PLACING YOUR ORDER

You must be at least 18 years old to place an order through our website and have the intention of collecting the order within the agreed time limit. You should check your order and information carefully and correct any errors before submitting your order. Completing checkout is a commitment to collect and pay for your order. We are unable to correct
any errors once payment has been processed. To add additional items to your order
after completing checkout, please create a new order. In case of errors, please contact us immediately as we may be able to assist.

 

PRICES AND PAYMENT

You will be charged as per the prices on our website and these prices are inclusive of vat. In any instance where the price on the website is an incorrect lower price, the restaurant is under no obligation to ensure that the order is provided to you at the incorrect lower price or to compensate you in respect of incorrect pricing.

Please remember to use TAKEAWAY10 when placing your order to receive 10% discount. Once you have paid, we are unable to make any refunds if you forget to enter the code.

 

CANCELLING OR AMENDING YOUR ORDER

You may cancel or change your order after it has been submitted and payment has been authorised but this is only allowed up to 45 minutes before the chosen collection time. This can be done by telephoning the restaurant directly. Any order cancelled 45 minutes less than your chosen collection time will be charged to you, and no refund will be given.

If we are unable to fulfil your order or a menu item isn’t available, we will offer a substitute or refund the item amount. We reserve the right to refuse any order should it be necessary for any reason and in the event of needing to issue a refund we will endeavour to do so within 10 working days.

 

COLLECTING YOUR ORDER

You should arrive at the restaurant at the time you selected to collect your order, let the team know the name you have placed your order under and the order number. We will endeavour to have your order ready for you to collect at your chosen time. In the event your order is delayed, we thank you for your patience.

 

PRIVACY POLICY

We do not store credit card details nor do we share customer details with any 3rd parties. We use Payment Sense to collect and process transaction information.

We will, from time to time, take photographs in our sites to use as reference material or in the promotion of our business (e.g. on marketing material or on social media). Where such photographs include customers who are clearly identifiable then they will be asked if they are happy for such pictures to be taken. If they are either unwilling or unable to give their agreement then either the photographs will not be taken/deleted or the image will be modified to remove the identity of those customers.
