Christmas Parties in Southampton 2026

If you’re in charge of organising the Christmas party in Southampton this year, there’s one fairly important question to answer first: what kind of Christmas party are you looking for?
A proper sit-down dinner? Food and cocktails with the work lot? A private room where you can turn the volume up? Or a full-on party with dj and the likes?
At Mango, Christmas parties can take pretty much whatever shape suits your group. From 26 November to 23 December 2026, both Mango Portswood and Mango Above Bar will be hosting everything from festive dinners around the table to drinks-led parties, private room celebrations and whole-venue takeovers.
For the Christmas dinner crowd
If the food is the main event, there are two ways to do it.
Our Festive Sharing Menu is £36 per person for three courses and is probably the most Mango way to have Christmas dinner. Instead of everyone ordering their own meal, the table gets a spread of Thai tapas, curries, wok dishes and rice to share.
It starts with Thai crackers (prawn or vegetarian) and chilli & garlic olives, followed by tapas including favourites like: chicken satay, prawn toast, steamed dim sum and mango corncakes. Then come the bigger dishes: chicken golden curry, beef red Curry, prawn holy basil stir-fry, vegetable yellow noodles and more. For £6 extra each, you can make it 4 courses with our sharing desserts for the table including tarot & coconut fried rolls and mochi ice cream.
Prefer to keep your dinner a little more traditional? Our Festive Set Course Menu gives everyone their own choice of starter and main, with nibbles for the table when you arrive. It's £36pp for three courses or £42pp for four courses including a dessert each. We'll send out a pre-order link closer to the date which you can share with the group, so you don't have to spend valuable time collecting everyones' orders in!
There are different dishes at Portswood and Above Bar, and we can accommodate vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and other dietary requirements with advance notice.
A little extra fizz
Book a Monday–Thursday festive dining party and pay your deposit by 31 October, and we'll include free festive fizz for everyone at the table (for dining bookings of 6-20).
For the Christmas party crowd
Not every Christmas do needs place settings and three courses.
If your plan involves more mingling, drinking and moving around, our Christmas party food can be served as grazing platters, canapés or from a buffet station.
Grazing Tapas is £20pp, with a spread including vegetable spring rolls, prawn toast, Mango corncakes, coconut chicken, dim sum, chicken satay and mini island pasties.
For hungrier parties, Feasting Tapas is £28pp, adding larger dishes such as Yellow Drunken Noodles and Chicken Green Curry & Rice.
Lighter sampling menus are also available from £12pp, if you're just after a taste of Mango tapas for your drinks party.
It means you don't have to turn your Christmas party into a formal dinner just because people need feeding.
Drinks sorted before everyone arrives
Anyone who's organised the office Christmas party knows that getting 30 people to a bar at exactly the same time isn't an ideal start to proceedings.
You can arrange drinks in advance, including Prosecco or Winter Berry Bellinis on arrival, £7 drinks tokens, beer buckets, wine for the table, cocktails, festive shooters and long drinks.
There are alcohol-free options too, so nobody needs to be stuck with the obligatory glass of orange juice.
Want to make a proper night of it?
For private-hire parties, why not add your own DIY Cocktail Station! For £10pp choose between a Margarita or a Mojito station... or why not have both! We'll prepare the cocktail bases and set up everything you need, then leave you to get creative at your own pace. Pick your festive flavours, rims and garnishes, shake up your creation and enjoy! No guided session or timetable – just a bit of cocktail-making fun whenever you fancy.
Fancy something a little more hands-on? Our Cocktail Masterclasses are £40pp for groups of six or more, lasting around 2½–3½ hours. Expect a welcome Bellini, icebreaker games, a few tricks of the trade and two cocktails made (and drunk!) by each guest. You can also add Thai tapas platters for £15pp.
With Christmas being one of our busiest times, masterclasses are best suited to daytime celebrations and quieter periods, with availability depending on the day and group size. Smaller groups will usually be hosted at Mango Portswood, so get in touch with your preferred date and we'll see what we can arrange.
Looking for a private Christmas party venue in Southampton?
This is where having two very different Mango restaurants comes in handy.
Mango Portswood
Our converted Victorian house gives you several options depending on the size and style of your party.
You can take over the downstairs floor for up to 50 standing (60 max), book one or both of our smaller upstairs rooms for more intimate parties, or hire the entire restaurant for up to 120 standing.
Full venue hire gives you four rooms, two floors and two bars – essentially your own big Christmas house party, without having to host it at your house.
Layouts can be changed for dining, buffets, mingling and dancing, and for larger events we can also help organise extras such as a DJ, live band, comedian, decorations or photographer.
Mango Above Bar
Right in Southampton city centre, Mango Above Bar has a private upstairs room with its own bar, accommodating up to 43 seated or 45 with a mixture of seated and standing guests.
It can be arranged for anything from a Christmas dinner to a more informal standing party, so it's a particularly handy option for work Christmas parties where you want your own space without hiring an entire venue.
How does private hire work?
We don't charge a hire fee for our main private party spaces.
During peak periods, we instead work on a minimum spend, secured with a deposit. Your food packages, pre-ordered drinks and bar spend on the day all count towards it.
Minimum spends vary depending on the day, time and space you're booking, so tell us roughly how many people you're expecting and what you have in mind and we can recommend the best option. You can do this by filling out our party enquiry form.
Having the Christmas party somewhere else?
We can bring Mango to you too.
Our outside catering starts from £12.50pp, with Thai buffets, tapas and picky bits, curries and rice, noodles or individual lunch boxes available.
For daytime events, we generally recommend budgeting around £15–£20pp. We can deliver within a reasonable distance of our Southampton restaurants subject to availability, or you can collect your order and receive 10% off. For larger events, we can even bring the buffet setup and Mango staff to your office or venue. For Blue Light Organisations we will add 10% in added value to your order.
Christmas parties without the turkey
Whether you're organising dinner for a small team, a Christmas get-together with friends or the office party for the whole company, you don't have to squeeze everyone into the same kind of celebration.
Sit down for a festive Thai dinner. Fill a room with tapas and cocktails. Take over a floor. Take over the whole restaurant! Mango – for parties where the food and drink is just as important as having a beautiful space to gather.
